Global, Inc. was contracted to perform a mold inspection in the conference room of the Georgetown Public Library that had been cleaned after a flooding incident. Our Certified Industrial Hygienist performed a walkthrough inspection in the affected areas to identify locations with suspected mold growth, evaluate the air handling system, and develop a survey protocol. Real-time measurements of temperature, relative humidity and respirable particulates were made with calibrated instruments, while a moisture meter was used to detect isolated locations with moisture.

Our trained mold inspector collected swab and tape lift samples from surfaces with suspected mold growth, and also collected air samples for non-viable mold spores on Air-O-Cell cassettes using a Buck BioAire calibrated pump. Based on the field observations and sample analytical results, we recommended suitable corrective actions for mold-growth related indoor air quality concerns.
